Limb is a PHP Web Application Framework built with the best agile development practices. We are committed proponents of the beautiful and easy-to-maintain code that simply works. That is why we constantly refactor our code, develop it in a test driven manner and apply design patterns.

We are pushing PHP to the limits in order to prove that it is possible to write fascinating code regardless all numerous unfair bashing that this language has been receiving lately.

We also believe in sharing and OpenSource, that is why Limb is absolutely free, there is no hidden catch or anything like that. You are free to use it any way you like it.

Limb was initially designed as a PHP Content Management Framework around brilliant WACT template subsystem for rapid development of Content Management Systems with nice GUI but gradually became much more than that. Today we have 2 different versions of Limb being actively developed: Limb3 and Limb2(however we should admit that Limb3 has much higher priority).

Limb3 is a general PHP5 only Web Application Framework consisting of many reusable packages distributed via Limb3 PEAR channel.

Limb2 is a PHP4 compatible framework for building web sites with rich content which should be updated easily. In acknowledgement of the original approach in 2004 Limb2 got the 3d place in Zend Contest. Someday good'n'old Limb2 version will become simply a package of the Limb3. Currently Limb2 is not maintained anymore and its further development is frozen.
